A "backing track" has no lead vocal. If the original song has back up singers (backing chorus), then these vocals will be included. This cannot be changed. You need to determine if this format is suitable for you . (see FAQs for more information)
By sending us an order you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions.
Please be sure to read them before placing your order.

1. Music Copyright Issues.    top

Music Copyright Law in Australia is covered by the Copyright Act 1968. APRA is an association administering the rights of the world's composers, songwriters and publishers in Australia and New Zealand. AMCOS on behalf of music publishers grants licences for the reproduction (copying) of musical works.
When you hear a song you most likely consider it one entity. You may not realise there are several parts to a song
There are the actual sounds themselves -- the performance of the work.
There are the notes that the musicians play to create the song -- they could be embodied in sheet music.
There are the lyrics for the song -- they can be written down on a sheet of paper.
A license is required to use any one of these parts in a performance. For most people requiring music components for occasional use, obtaining a license is impractical and involved.
Recording Studios of Australia has purchased a license to resell performing rights from the owners and producers of the backing tracks, and the lyrics which are used for the song. All royalties, license fees, production costs, and other charges associated with the production of the backing tracks are paid by the producer of the song. A license fee is paid by us to AMCOS for each reproduction of the lyrics.
This means you can legally use our backing tracks for your performances. You cannot use them to produce records or CDs or audio cassettes. Only for your own performances.
Apart from the purchase price payable to us, there are no further charges as all license fees have been paid by us and the producer of the backing tracks.
When you buy songs from this site mechanical copyright is paid through AMCOS. Using this site will suppport the music makers and protect producers from the damage done by sites offering illegal free download. You must not copy, give away, swap or sell or broadcast any of your purchased tracks. Doing so is an infringement of Copyright and has severe penalties. Your license grants you the right to use your backing tracks for your own performances. If you have concerns about your rights or if you know anyone who is breaching copyright, please let us know.
Backing Music For Education
Many people, including educators, do not realise the use of music, composed or performed by others, is something that requires legal permission to use.
You cannot legally take your favorite recording of a piece of music, and use it to accompany a video project, a school yearbook, or a cable television program, produced at your school.
(For that matter - e.g. - restaurants cannot play CD's of various musical artists, without paying a fee for the use of the music.)
Recording Studios of Australia has created a library of music that schools, educators, students and teachers may use, in full compliance with all applicable copyright law.
Following are some of the many uses commonly used within the area of schools and education.
- School Yearbooks in many schools have recently gone "high tech." They produce the yearbooks with music on CD's.
In order to use music in this manner, a license must be secured. These licenses are generally very expensive, and not realistically possible for most schools to afford. We provide music of all genres and styles of music for schools to use with these CD Year Books, at very affordable prices. The music may be used by the school as often as desired, and complies with all copyright law.
- Class projects
Teachers sometimes assign projects that require music. These can include multimedia presentations in class, web site design, or various other things
- School concerts or fundraisers, choral or church services.
The use of music in any of these projects requires a license for the use of the music.
We receive many calls from teachers, students and school administrators, concerned about using music legally.
At Recording Studios of Australia we provide quality music, which may be used legally, for all school related projects, at an affordable price.
